Mason County is seeking applicants from Commissioner Districts 1 and 3 for the Mason County Planning Advisory Commission. There are two positions with terms expiring July 31, 2010, and one position that has been vacated. Two of the positions are from District 1 and one is from District 3.

The Planning Advisory Commission is a seven member citizen board appointed to advise the Board of Commissioners on policy related to amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, Shoreline Master Program, and land use regulations

The Commission typically meets once per month on the third Monday at 6:00 p.m., with special meetings scheduled as necessary. Appointed Commissioners normally serve a four-year term. The terms of these positions will expire in July of 2013 for one District 1 position, and July of 2014 for the other District 1 position and for District 3.

Applications to serve on the board are being accepted until July 16, 2010, and should be submitted to the Mason County Commissioners, 411 N. 5th, Shelton, WA 98584.
