United Way Announces 2010 Grant Opportunities
United Way of Mason County invites non-profit agencies to consider applying for available funds generated through the LIVE UNITED fall campaign. United Way accepts applicants who seek funding for the provision of education, income stabilization and health. Jeannie Gruber, Executive Director of United Way, said that while the final amount of donations from workplace and individual giving this year is not yet known, it is already time for agencies to begin applying for funds. There are funds available for general operating costs, for a specific program expenses or a start-up group or organization who is not registered as a non-profit or a 501(c)3. The grants will be reviewed and awarded by community volunteers in June 2010 from the United Way of Mason County Community Fund. The due date is March 25th. Applications are available on-line at www.unitedwaymasonco.org. Applications may also be submitted to United Way for those agencies seeking to participate in the (CFC) Combined Federal Campaign of federal workers. This enables non-profit agencies to receive funds from the combined fundraising campaign of federal employees. United Way manages the application and distribution process of those funds. The due date is March 11th. Applications are available on the United Way web site atwww.unitedwaymasonco.org Each application may be delivered to the United Way of Mason County offices at 1620 Olympic Hwy N in Shelton.
