It has been 13 years since I moved to the North Mason area from Tacoma, Washington. My community is called "Victor," and like so many of the small neighborhoods in North Mason, it has its own personality, sense of friendship and community spirit.

All the neighbors in Victor still meet once a month for happy hour, a shared meal and a community meeting on topics of interest to our area. There is a sense of belonging here that is so different from my previous neighborhood in Tacoma.

I was commuting at that time to Seattle and would have to work my way through the gridlock and angry traffic messes to get to and from home where I would hibernate until the next morning. I waited for the weekends, so I could "get out of town."

People who feel like "getting out of town" are looking for the community I now call "home." When I get home, I visit with my neighbors, and wander outside to see the trees, water and wildlife that is so abundant here in North Mason. My two children loved growing up here. They made wonderful friends and had many opportunities to expand their horizons through travel and a good education.

To stay close to home and avoid commuting, I started my own business in the North Mason area. I have been embraced by this community and have enjoyed 10 successful years. My clients are my friends and neighbors whom I frequently see when I'm dining at a local restaurant, shopping or attending one of our many local festivals. They count on me to be knowledgeable and show integrity and I count on them for their loyalty.

That's the way it works in this little corner of the world. North Mason is a wonderful place to live, work and play.
